Instant geyser vs storage geyser: which suits your home?
An instant geyser heats water only while it flows and lights itself when you open a tap; a storage geyser keeps a tankful hot. Instant units save gas and space but need good gas or water pressure and struggle to supply several taps in winter. Storage geysers deliver more hot water at once but go out during load shedding unless fitted with auto ignition.

Instant electric and tap heaters
Instant electric heaters and tap-mounted heaters suit a single washbasin or kitchen sink. They draw high current while running, so they need suitable wiring, and a shower-size instant electric heater needs a very heavy supply.
Winter performance
In Lahore, Islamabad and the north, incoming water in winter is very cold. An instant geyser can only raise the temperature by a limited amount at a given flow, so showers may be lukewarm unless you reduce the flow. Low gas pressure at peak times makes this worse.
Already have a storage geyser?
If your storage geyser works well, there is little reason to replace it with an instant one just to avoid relighting. Auto ignition gives a storage geyser the self-lighting benefit of an instant unit while keeping its larger supply of hot water.
