Gas geyser parts explained
Knowing what each geyser part does makes it much easier to understand faults and talk to a technician. A conventional storage gas geyser has a gas control thermostat, a pilot assembly with thermocouple and igniter, a main burner, a flue with baffle, an anode rod and water fittings.
Which part causes which problem
| Part | Typical symptom when it fails |
|---|---|
| Thermocouple | Pilot lights but dies when you release the knob |
| Pilot jet | Small, yellow or no pilot flame |
| Thermostat / gas valve | No main burner, or water too hot |
| Piezo igniter | No spark |
| Main burner | Slow heating, yellow flame, soot |
| Flue and baffle | Soot, fumes, poor heating, pilot blown out |
| Anode rod | Rusty water, tank corrosion, leaks |

What the geyser rod (anode rod) does, how hard and salty water in Pakistan wears it out, signs it needs replacing, and how it extends your tank’s life.
Flue and baffle
The gas geyser flue pipe and conical baffle explained: how they carry fumes out, improve heating, why blockages are dangerous, and wind and rain protection.
